Discover Unique Weapon Designs in Monster Hunter Wilds

By MadisonFeb 20,2025

Concerns about weapon design similarity in Monster Hunter: Wilds, following criticism of Monster Hunter: World, have been addressed by Director Yuya Tokuda. Unlike World, where weapon designs primarily varied based on monster materials, Wilds features uniquely designed weapons.

Tokuda stated, "Incidentally, weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, but they featured a customized appearance based on which monster materials were used. However, in Wilds, each weapon has its own unique design.”

PlayThis directly contrasts with Monster Hunter: World, where even upgraded weapons often retained similar appearances. The image below illustrates this similarity, showcasing the final Aqua and Bone weapon lines compared to their Pukei-Pukei and Jyuratodus counterparts respectively. These were the highest upgrade levels available at launch.
