Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Boost Your Chances?

By JackMay 14,2025

RAID: Shadow Legends is renowned for its RNG-based summoning system, which can be both thrilling and disheartening, particularly when you're pulling shards without landing a coveted Legendary champion. To mitigate this frustration, Plarium introduced what the community refers to as the "Pity System." In this guide, we'll delve into how this system operates, its effectiveness, and whether it truly benefits free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is an underlying mechanic designed to boost your chances of summoning higher rarity champions—Epic and Legendary—the longer you go without pulling one. In essence, if your luck runs dry for an extended period, the game incrementally increases your odds until you finally secure a desirable pull. This system aims to prevent prolonged "dry streaks" where players might summon dozens, or even hundreds, of shards without obtaining a valuable champion. Although Plarium does not overtly mention this mechanic within the game, it has been validated through datamining, developer statements, and numerous player experiences.

Sacred Shards

Base Legendary chance: 6% per pull.
Mercy kicks in: After 12 pulls without a Legendary.
After your 12th Sacred pull with no Legendary, each subsequent pull increases your Legendary odds by 2%.

So, the progression works as follows:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The answer to this question isn't straightforward. Does it help regularly? Not necessarily, as many players have noted that the pity threshold is so distant that they often pull a Legendary before reaching it. This leads to the question of how it might be improved. The existence of a pity system is undoubtedly beneficial, especially for a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends.

For F2P players, the constant struggle of not getting Legendary champions after extensive grinding and farming can be disheartening. Therefore, the system is essential. However, there's room for enhancement. For instance, the developers could reduce the pity threshold from 200 to 150 or 170 pulls. This adjustment would help players conserve more shards routinely and make the pity system feel more impactful.

Players can further enhance their RAID: Shadow Legends experience by playing on a larger screen with a keyboard and mouse on their PC or laptop via BlueStacks, offering an elevated gameplay experience.
