Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake to Feature Major Game Mechanics Overhaul

The MP1st website has recently unveiled exciting details about an unannounced remake of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion*, sourced from the portfolio of an unnamed developer at Virtuos Studio. This developer, who remains anonymous to maintain confidentiality, has provided insights into the project which is being crafted using the powerful Unreal Engine 5. The remake promises to breathe new life into the classic game with a series of significant updates and enhancements.

According to the portfolio of a former Virtuos employee, *Oblivion* is set to be fully reimagined. This overhaul includes revamps to key mechanics such as stamina, stealth, attack blocking, archery, damage reactions, and the user interface. For instance, the new blocking mechanics will take inspiration from Soulslike games, addressing the original's shortcomings which were often described as dull and disappointing. The damage calculation system has been reworked to include visible reactions to hits, making combat feel more dynamic and engaging. Stamina mechanics are expected to be more intuitive, while the UI and archery systems will be modernized to align with current gaming trends.

MP1st speculates that the project may have initially been planned as a simple remaster, as hinted by leaked Microsoft documents. However, it has since evolved into a comprehensive remake, promising a fresh take on the beloved RPG.

The publication has also confirmed through its sources that the *Oblivion* remake will not be featured at the upcoming Developer_Direct. Yet, there is a buzz that we might not have to wait long, with rumors suggesting a potential release as early as this year.
