In Freedom Wars Remastered, players have the flexibility to equip two weapons of their choice before embarking on an Operation. With six distinct weapon types at your disposal, you can craft a build that perfectly aligns with your preferred playstyle. Whether you lean towards speed, power, or a mix of both, the game's customization options ensure you can tailor your arsenal to your strategy.
Each of the six weapon types offers unique characteristics, with some featuring special effects upon charging up. There are three gun-based and three melee-based options, all of which can be further customized to suit your needs. Here's a detailed look at each weapon type and what sets them apart:
Every Weapon Type In Freedom Wars Remastered
You can acquire new weapons by successfully completing operations or by making purchases at the Zakka store in The Warren. While you have no control over the weapons your Comrades use, you can freely equip and adjust the weapons on your Accessory at any time. There's no advantage or disadvantage to frequently switching your weapons or sticking to the same ones. Below, you'll find an overview of the six weapon types:
Weapon Type | Traits |
---|---|
Light Melee |
- Quick attacks ideal for faster playstyles and targeting single enemies. - Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife. |
Heavy Melee |
- Wide arcing attacks that deliver substantial damage. - Well-placed attacks can strike multiple Abductor limbs, dealing damage as if hitting them multiple times. - Charged attacks can propel you into the air at the end of your combo. - Slightly reduces your movement speed when equipped. |
Polearm |
- Most attacks involve charging through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks. - Charged attacks allow you to throw the polearm for massive damage from a safe distance. |
Assault Weapons |
- High ammo capacity, making it suitable as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. - Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, offering better angles or safe distance shooting. |
Portable Artillery |
- Delivers high single-shot damage with limited overall ammo capacity. - Explosive AOE shots that can damage multiple Abductor limbs simultaneously. - Reduces your movement speed when equipped. |
Autocannons |
- High rate of fire, large ammo capacity, and magazine size. - Individual shots have lower damage, but the rapid firing compensates for this. - Slows your movement speed when equipped. |
It's worth noting that unlike the player, your Accessory does not need to worry about ammunition when using gun weapons, giving you added strategic flexibility in your Operations.
