Bouncing Blades Kill Campers Outside Map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

By EricMay 18,2025

In the thrilling arena of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's competitive multiplayer, players are constantly showcasing their skills through final kills that go viral online. Among the countless clips, one stands out for its sheer ingenuity and precision.

The Ricochet Blades, a unique type of ammunition for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon, were introduced during the controversial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event last month. These blades quickly became a hot topic due to their unpredictable bounce patterns as they ricochet off multiple surfaces.

Player kev99gh captured a remarkable final kill in a round of hardcore Search and Destroy on the Lowtown map. In the clip, kev99gh skillfully launched a Ricochet Blade—affectionately dubbed a "pizza" by the community—out of the map, only for it to bounce back inside and deliver a one-hit kill on an enemy player who dared to peek out a window.

In the video, kev99gh lines up the shot from behind cover and releases it into the unknown. They then switch to the overhead map view to track the blade, which travels along the map's edge before bouncing back through the window for the kill.

These elaborate and seemingly improbable blade bounce trick shots are not just a matter of luck. According to Redditor SpawnTubing, who shared kev99gh's clip, the Black Ops 6 community "looks for and practices common spots where people camp." Commenters have praised the impeccable timing of the enemy player's peek coinciding with the "pizza" flying through the window as "peak" Black Ops 6 gameplay.

The introduction of Ricochet Blades has ignited a new meta of bounce kills across various Multiplayer maps, with numerous clips showcasing different, albeit less impressive, bounce kills making their rounds online. Here’s another example:

Some find them frustrating and annoying to play against, and they won't be pleased with Treyarch's recent update that buffed the blades' physics and bouncing speeds, ensuring one-hit kills on contact. Here's the relevant patch note:

**D1.3 Sector**Our initial design for the D1.3 Sector Ricochet Blades revolved around quickly launching many high-speed blades, meant to perform best when blind firing into enclosed spaces. We have been following your feedback and agree that, in practice, the use cases for this ammo type are too low. The Ricochet Blades will now do 100 damage to enable one-hit kills, and to compensate, we are lowering the fire rate and projectile speed. We think the popularity of this ammo type will see some new interest with these changes and look forward to seeing more of your cross-map killcams in MP.

Ricochet BladesIncreased damage from 75 to 100.Decreased rate of fire.Decreased projectile velocity.Improved bouncing speeds and physics. With these changes, the dominance of Ricochet Blades is expected to escalate as Season 3 approaches, alongside the much-anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone.
