Rockstar Declares GTA 6 Trailer 2 the Largest Video Launch Ever

By LaylaMay 14,2025

Rockstar Games has announced that the GTA 6 Trailer 2 is the largest video launch of all time, amassing a staggering 475 million views across all platforms within its first 24 hours. This achievement surpasses all previous movie trailer launches, including the 365 million views for Deadpool & Wolverine and the 200 million views for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Even last year's Superman trailer, which garnered over 250 million views and was the most-viewed in the history of both DC and Warner Bros., pales in comparison to GTA 6 Trailer 2's monumental debut.

It's worth highlighting that the first trailer for GTA 6, released exclusively on YouTube, achieved 93 million views on its debut day, setting a record as the biggest non-music video launch on the platform. As of May 8, the second trailer has already reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel.

Following its premiere, IGN reported a dramatic surge in Spotify streams for The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together," which was featured in GTA 6 Trailer 2. The song experienced a remarkable 182,000% increase in global streams within just two hours of the trailer's release. Spotify's Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong, commented on the phenomenon, stating, "Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way."

The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 comes after the game's high-profile delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. With expectations set high, GTA 6 is poised to become the biggest entertainment launch ever, potentially breaking revenue records not only in the video game industry but across all forms of entertainment.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Rockstar has invested over $1 billion in the development of GTA 6, underscoring the immense pressure to deliver a successful product. However, the overwhelming interest in the game's trailers suggests that GTA 6 is on track to meet, if not exceed, these expectations.
