LEGO Enters the Gaming World with In-House Projects

By AidenMar 31,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, announcing a strategic expansion into the digital realm through the development of video games. This initiative will see LEGO creating games both independently and in collaboration with other developers, aiming to offer engaging experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms.

"We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing." - Niels Christiansen

This expansion into gaming does not mean LEGO will cease its licensing agreements with third-party developers. Recent reports from journalist Jason Schreier indicate that TT Games, renowned for their LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly connected to a Warner Bros. franchise.

Currently, LEGO's most significant gaming endeavor is its ongoing partnership with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year was met with immense popularity, becoming one of the game's standout features. LEGO's collaboration with TT Games over the past two decades has also been a cornerstone of its gaming presence, with the adventure game series gaining widespread acclaim. Although new projects from TT Games have been less visible recently, rumors are circulating about a new LEGO Harry Potter game, spurred by the success of the commercially successful LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Further demonstrating LEGO's versatility in the gaming industry, the company partnered with 2K Games to release LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that hit the market last year. This move underscores LEGO's commitment to exploring diverse gaming genres and enhancing its digital footprint.
