Jakesh's Fate in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Bad Blood Quest Decision

By ZoeMay 14,2025

*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* offers a rich tapestry of side quests that not only enhance your gameplay but also deepen your understanding of the game's characters. One such compelling quest is *Bad Blood*. Here’s a detailed guide on how to start and complete it.

How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Once you have the freedom to roam the open world in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, progress through the quest to find Mutt. A key objective will lead you to a clearing near Bozhena’s hut. Upon arriving, Henry will suggest checking if Bozhena has seen Mutt.

Visit Bozhena's hut and inquire about Mutt. She will mention that her daughter, Pavlena, has gone missing. Offer your help, and the quest *Bad Blood* will be added to your journal.

Gather Information

Begin by traveling to Troskowitz to meet with Baliff Thrush. Next, speak to Innkeeper Betty at the local tavern. These conversations will shed light on Bozhena and Pavlena’s past, explaining their ostracization from the village.

Then, head to the designated area to speak with the woodcutters. Seek out Woodcutter Dushko, who will guide you to Roman's house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick Roman’s door.

Inside, inspect Pavlena’s basket. Return to Dushko for further details, which will lead you to a clearing near Roman’s house, a known hangout spot for the couple.

Search the Scene

From Roman’s house, follow the objective marker down the hill towards the stream. Turn left at the two large boulders to locate the scene. Follow the blood trail to discover Roman’s lifeless body.

Continue up the path and engage with Hogherd Hugo. Then, return to the farm in Troskowitz and talk to Hired Hand Straw. Successfully pass the dialogue check with Straw to learn about Jakesh and the truth behind Roman and Pavlena’s fate.

You can also consult with Thrush about Straw’s fate. After your discussions, proceed to the rocks south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.

Confront Ota

Navigate the objective area, walking around the large boulder to find a path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. To convince Ota to release Pavlena, you'll need high Charisma to pass the following dialogue options:

  • “What’s your name?”
  • “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
  • “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”

Once Ota releases Pavlena, she will seize the opportunity to kill him. After the confrontation, speak with Pavlena and escort her back to Bozhena. Bozhena will then request you to deal with Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

For the final step, you must decide whether to kill Jakesh or facilitate peace between him and Bozhena. Locate Jakesh at his child’s grave at the farm. You have the option to either take his life or negotiate a peaceful resolution. Alternatively, you could choose to kill Bozhena instead, though this will alter the quest's outcome.

In my playthrough, I chose to eliminate Jakesh and subsequently reported back to Bozhena for a reward.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Killing Jakesh will diminish your reputation in Troskowitz, but it will significantly boost your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. This choice also unlocks a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewards you with a necklace that Roman had given her.

Conversely, if you choose to spare Jakesh and broker peace, he will reward you with 100 groschen. When reporting to Bozhena, you can either keep the money or share it, leading to Bozhena and Pavlena being welcomed back into the community.

This completes the *Bad Blood* quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For more tips and guides on the game, including how to find the Hermit’s sword and Ventza’s treasure, be sure to visit The Escapist.
