Rumors are swirling around the highly anticipated Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, a fighting game inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series, potentially making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. Although there's no official word from the developers yet, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, highlighted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, seems to confirm the game's arrival on the new console.
"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet stated before its removal, noting that the game secured a 12+ rating.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero enhances the iconic gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, introducing an impressive roster of characters. Each character comes with unique abilities, transformations, and techniques, elevating the gaming experience to new heights.
In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded the game a 7/10, commenting, "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 opened on April 24, priced at $449.99. As expected, they sold out quickly. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, stating that release date delivery might not be guaranteed due to overwhelming demand.
