Amidst the buzz surrounding Reburn—a new studio founded by former members of 4A Games Ukraine, the creators behind the acclaimed Metro series—4A Games has reassured fans of their dedication to expanding the beloved franchise. In an official statement, 4A Games addressed any potential confusion regarding their relationship with Reburn, congratulating them on La Quimera while reaffirming their focus on the Metro series.

"We remain the team responsible for bringing you the beloved Metro games," the statement declared. "Our efforts toward the next Metro installment continue in partnership with Dmitry Glukhovsky, guided by the same visionaries and talent that have shaped the series since its inception."

In addition to the anticipated Metro sequel, the studio hinted at progress on a brand-new intellectual property (IP), though details about this project remain under wraps. They expressed pride in their Ukrainian heritage and the diversity of their multicultural team, noting that the majority of their staff—approximately 150 out of over 200 members—continue to be based in Kyiv, with satellite operations in Sliema, Malta, and remote work arrangements.

Regarding the organizational split, 4A Games provided clarity:

"Following the completion of Metro Exodus and its DLC, we collaborated closely with our partners at 4A Games Ukraine through outsourcing. Post-Exodus, we founded 4A Games Limited in Kyiv, absorbing roughly 50 more colleagues to sustain our momentum. Simultaneously, 4A Games Ukraine embarked on their standalone journey with La Quimera, eventually rebranding as Reburn."

Since the release of Metro Exodus in early 2019, fan interest in the series has only grown, despite the scarcity of updates. While spin-offs and enhancements like the Enhanced Edition have kept the community engaged, many eagerly await the next chapter in Dmitry Glukhovsky’s dystopian universe. Backed by Embracer Group (previously THQ Nordic), the studio initially teased a new Metro title in 2019, with a vague "202X" release timeline before going silent. Now, it appears that the wait for the next installment may soon be over.
