1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)

The timeline kicks off with the franchise's inaugural film, The Fast and the Furious (2001). This action-packed plot follows Paul Walker's undercover cop, Brian O'Conner, as he infiltrates a crew of carjackers led by Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto. Brian immerses himself in illegal street racing, forms a bond with Dom, and begins a relationship with Dom's sister, Mia Toretto (Jordan Brewster), ultimately choosing loyalty over his duty. The film also introduces Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Dom's love interest.

The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious is a six-minute short film that bridges the gap between the first film and 2 Fast 2 Furious. 3. 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

2 Fast 2 Furious is the only film in the series without Dom Toretto. It introduces Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges). The plot follows Brian O'Conner and Roman as they go undercover to dismantle a drug lord's operation in exchange for clearing their criminal records. The mission succeeds, and the film also introduces Eva Mendes as Monica Fuentes, Brian's new love interest, who briefly reappears in Fast Five.
