Warframe: 1999 Unveils Techrot Encore Release Date, Adds Content and Characters

By PeytonApr 15,2025

Warframe's much-anticipated 1999 expansion is set to take an exciting leap forward with the Techrot Encore update, scheduled for release on March 19th. This update promises to immerse players in a thrilling turn-of-the-millennium setting, complete with series-standard action and a fresh twist: the return of the ARG band as formidable boss battles.

Techrot Encore introduces four new protoframes to the fray: Flare, Minerva, Kaya, and Velimir II, each bringing unique abilities to enhance your gameplay. Additionally, the 60th Warframe, Temple, makes its grand entrance, equipped with Techrot Subwoofer minions and a sentient guitar named Lizzie, ready to shake the foundations of the game.

For seasoned Warframe veterans, the update doesn't stop there. Two new endgame stages have been added. In Stage Defense, players will protect Scaldra during a memorial show dedicated to fallen comrades amidst the city's takeover. Meanwhile, Temporal Archimedea challenges players to team up with Minerva and Velimir II for three consecutive missions, with the Peely Pix system dynamically altering modifiers to keep the action fresh and unpredictable.

Frame jobIn a heartwarming nod to the community, Digital Extremes honors a Make-A-Wish commitment from James Conlin with the introduction of the Atomicycle racing mini-game at the Höllvania Mall Hub's Ollie's Crash Course arcade. This addition not only enriches the game's content but also reflects the studio's commitment to its fans.

With the buildup to Tennocon 2025 and the relaunch of an open beta for the upgraded Warframe Companion App, there's no shortage of reasons for Warframe enthusiasts to be excited this March.
