The release of *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* has been delayed once again, with the new launch date set for October 2025. This latest delay, which follows a series of schedule changes over the years, was announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The new release date is a few months later than the previously planned launch in the first half of 2025, but it comes with the reassurance that the game is now complete.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” said Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2*. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
While this delay is another setback for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the sequel, the update video also brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. They also teased that the character Fabien will have an “evolved role” in the storyline when the game launches. However, the frequency of updates will be reduced going forward, as announced on the official *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* X/Twitter page.
The development of *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019 by Hardsuit Labs, with an initial launch window set for Q1 2020. The game faced its first delay to late 2020, followed by further delays to 2021, and then more delays and layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. In a significant shift, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after yet another delay, fans are looking forward to experiencing the game in October 2025.
Despite the numerous delays, The Chinese Room remains confident about the upcoming release. If *Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2* achieves a successful launch, Paradox has hinted that another developer will take on the challenge of creating *Bloodlines 3*.
