Unlock Ultimate Arsenal in Hyper Light Breaker

By VictoriaFeb 19,2025

Hyper Light Breaker boasts a diverse arsenal, and a strong weapon is crucial for any successful build. While starting with basic equipment, players progressively unlock superior weapons tailored to their preferred playstyles. This guide details how to acquire and upgrade weapons in this unique blend of roguelike and extraction mechanics.

Acquiring New Weapons

New weapons are primarily discovered within Overgrowths. While exploration naturally yields gear, focusing on sword (Blades) or pistol (Rails) icons on the map significantly increases your chances of finding these weapon types.

Blades are melee weapons with distinct movesets and special abilities, while Rails are ranged weapons each possessing unique functionalities. Both weapon types come in varying rarities, with gold representing the highest rarity and, consequently, the best stats.

To save a discovered weapon for later use, press the Cache button instead of Equip. Cached weapons are accessible for future runs by adjusting your loadout before commencing a new cycle.

Obtaining New Starting Weapons

Beyond finding weapons during gameplay, players can purchase new starting weapons from merchants at the Cursed Outpost. Initially, only the Blades merchant is accessible. Unlocking the Rails merchant requires sufficient materials to repair their shop.

Merchant inventories are limited but refresh periodically. If your desired weapon isn't immediately available, check back later.

Weapon Upgrades

Weapon upgrades are performed at the Outpost merchants, but require unlocking the upgrade function first. This is achieved by increasing your affinity with the merchants using Golden Rations, a rare resource obtained through exploration or cycle resets. Use Golden Rations strategically due to their scarcity.

Death results in a reduction of equipped weapon durability (represented by a bar under the weapon icon). Repeated deaths will eventually break the weapon.
