Ubisoft Patches AC Origins, Valhalla for Windows 11 Compatibility

Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by the company's upper management, there's a glimmer of positive news as Ubisoft has successfully tackled a persistent issue. The company has resolved compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the 24H2 update for Windows 11. This update had previously disrupted the performance of games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and other Ubisoft titles since at least the fall of 2024. The solution arrived through the release of new patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community has responded with enthusiasm in the comments section of the patch notes, expressing relief and gratitude towards Ubisoft for this much-needed fix. Interestingly, players have held back from their usual criticisms, acknowledging that the root of the problem stemmed from Windows, not Ubisoft. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games continue to hover at "Mixed."

Looking ahead, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game's release has been pushed back to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay aims to enhance the game's quality, a critical move as the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could significantly impact the company's future trajectory.
