Top 2025 Games: What to Expect

By AlexisApr 18,2025

Happy New Year! As we kick off 2025, let's dive into the exciting lineup of game releases slated for the first few months of the year. Here's a detailed look at what you can expect:

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei brings back their beloved musou series with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the first full entry since 2018. This game will take full advantage of the latest generation hardware, allowing you to mow down hordes of enemies while shouting the iconic battlecry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" It will be available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who enjoy long-range combat, Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30. This latest entry in the series continues its tradition of precision shooting, with a special focus on, well, shooting Nazis in sensitive areas. It's a formula that works, and it's coming to all Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
On February 11, immerse yourself in the historical world of 14th-century Bohemia with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This sequel continues the journey of Henry of Skalitz, offering deep role-playing and a vast open world. Available on current-gen consoles and PC, this game promises a rich and engaging experience.

Also on February 11, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 hits the shelves. This legendary franchise needs no introduction, offering players the chance to guide a civilization through the ages. It's available on nearly every platform, including Linux, but not on mobile - though that may change later.

On February 14, Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes you to feudal Japan, allowing you to play as both a ninja and a samurai through its dual protagonists. This highly anticipated title will be available on current-gen consoles and PC.

For a more lighthearted option on Valentine's Day, try Date Everything!, a sandbox dating simulator where you can romance inanimate objects, all fully voice-acted. It's available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
On February 18, Avowed from Obsidian arrives on Xbox Series consoles and PC. Set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, this first-person action RPG promises a fresh perspective and engaging combat, similar in scope to The Outer Worlds.

If you're in the mood for some high-seas adventure, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii sails onto Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 21. This game follows Goro Majima as he navigates his new life as a pirate after losing his memory.

One of the year's most anticipated titles, Monster Hunter Wilds, launches on February 28 for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Capcom aims to refine the core experience while introducing new features that leverage current hardware, appealing to both new and returning players.

March 2025

Split Fiction
On March 6, Split Fiction from Hazelight offers another cooperative adventure. This time, an author gets trapped in a virtual reality, leading to bizarre scenarios like turning into pigs and then hot dogs. One copy allows two players to enjoy the game online, available on PC and current-gen consoles.

Experience the tranquil life of a hobbit in Tales of the Shire on March 25. This cozy life sim focuses on everyday hobbit activities, available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Atomfall
On March 27, Atomfall offers a post-apocalyptic take on the English countryside, inspired by Fallout and Stalker. This survival-focused game explores an alternate history following a nuclear disaster and will be available on all platforms except Switch.

Also on March 27, The First Berserker: Khazan, a single-player action RPG from the Dungeon & Fighter universe, arrives on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Finally, on March 28, the potential Sims competitor inZOI launches on PC. This visually stunning game from South Korea could be a major hit, especially after the long run of The Sims 4. Console versions are planned for later.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
On April 24, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the first new entry in the series this century. Featuring beloved characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, it's set to launch on both PlayStation consoles, Xbox Series, and PC.

These are just some of the highlights from the early months of 2025. With such a diverse range of games, there's something for every type of gamer to look forward to.
