Takahiro Sakiyama, the IP and Game Director for the Suikoden Gensho series, explained that the extended development was necessary to ensure quality. He noted, "As we approached the end of development, we encountered issues that required us to reassess our progress, leading to the postponement of our original release date."

Tatsuya Ogushi, the Game Director for Suikoden 1 and 2 HDR, elaborated on their approach, saying, "Our strategy was not about rushing into changes but understanding the current state.
