Stardew Valley 2 Considered, But Easier to Expand Original Game

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the mastermind behind Stardew Valley, has hinted at the possibility of creating a sequel, tentatively dubbed "Stardew Valley 2." While this news might send fans into a frenzy, Barone tempered expectations during his interview with TigerBelly. He emphasized that it's far simpler to enhance the existing game with new content than to start from scratch with a brand-new title. "It's all the systems — all the major systems — are already all done," Barone explained, highlighting the ease of adding whimsical elements like "green rain" to Stardew Valley updates.

Despite the allure of a sequel, Barone confessed his desire to not be solely defined as "the Stardew Valley guy." This drive has led him to focus on his upcoming project, Haunted Chocolatier. Fans eagerly awaiting this new game should brace themselves for a wait, as Barone noted there's "still a lot to be done" to ensure it surpasses the quality of Stardew Valley.
