By AdamMay 17,2025

Fans eager to dive into the opening episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to venture into the world of Fortnite to catch the series before its Disney+ debut. Epic Games has announced an exciting expansion of its Star Wars content, unveiling that the first two episodes of the anticipated animated spinoff will premiere exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's strategy to enhance its Star Wars offerings during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises a host of themed content.

You can witness the premiere of Tales of the Underworld with its initial two episodes featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2 – a full two days ahead of its Disney+ release. Epic Games is encouraging fans to connect their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, rewarding eligible players with a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. While the full scope of benefits from linking accounts remains under wraps, Epic hints at more rewards on the horizon.

“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” Epic Games President Adam Sussman stated. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

The window to watch these episodes in Fortnite closes on May 11, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will cease to be available. During this time, the island will also host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat with lightsabers against enemy waves. Viewers who complete both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series animated in the style of The Clone Wars, focusing on the journeys of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints that Ventress will encounter a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane must confront his past.

Disney's relationship with Fortnite extends beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration between the two giants. This partnership will not only bring more Star Wars content but also include Marvel and Pixar outfits into the popular battle royale game. Anticipated highlights from the next season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has consistently led the gaming industry. Its recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, encouraging players to swap their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
