By EmilyMay 15,2025

The mobile gaming phenomenon Monopoly Go is set to thrill fans with an exciting new collaboration with Star Wars, announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan. From May 1 to July 2, players can dive into a season inspired by the iconic Skywalker Saga and the beloved series, The Mandalorian, adding a touch of science fiction to the classic real estate dice-rolling game.

This Star Wars season in Monopoly Go will feature charming cartoon versions of fan-favorite characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn, alongside the game's iconic mascot, Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags. Players can look forward to collecting Star Wars Go stickers, racing pods in the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and acquiring unique in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has ventured into themed collaborations; last September, it teamed up with Marvel, introducing characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into the game's universe.

In other news, publisher Scopely has expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling a significant move in the mobile gaming industry.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has achieved remarkable success, ranking as the top game for consumer spending in 2024 with an impressive $2.47 billion in revenue. Scopely also reported 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users in 2024, solidifying Monopoly Go's position as a leading mobile game.
