Split Fiction immerses players in the vibrant worlds of two fiction writers through a groundbreaking co-op experience, allowing two players to join even if only one owns the game. Launched in March, it became an instant success for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, surpassing 2 million copies sold in its first week. The title is also confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch game, while Hazelight works on its next project.
A film adaptation of Hazelight’s game is in development, with Story Kitchen, known for the Sonic movies, currently gathering writers, a director, and a cast featuring Sydney Sweeney.
In our IGN Split Fiction review, we called it "a masterfully designed co-op adventure that shifts seamlessly across genres," noting that "its whirlwind of gameplay ideas and styles keeps it engaging and fresh throughout its 14-hour journey."
