Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series that follows Peter Parker during his first year of high school, has been renewed for both a second and third season. This exciting news comes ahead of the premiere of Season 1, set for tomorrow, January 29.
In an interview with The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared that Season 2 is already in the works with completed scripts and half of its animated storyboards finished. Season 3 has also been greenlit. Winderbaum expressed his deep affection for the characters and his enthusiasm for the direction of the series, saying, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off."
He further praised the emotional connection viewers will feel with the characters, stating, "And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season. I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."

It remains to be seen whether Season 2 will explore his sophomore year and Season 3 his junior year, or if the narrative will continue to delve into stories from his first year as Spider-Man.
