Sony PlayStation State of Play Scheduled for Next Week

By AaliyahApr 14,2025

Sony is gearing up to captivate gamers with its anticipated February PlayStation State of Play event, scheduled for Valentine's Day week (February 10 to 14), according to the reliable leaker NateTheHate. This event has sparked a flurry of speculation about what Sony might unveil. Given Sony's lineup of first-party titles slated for 2025, fans are eager to see what's on offer.

Among the eagerly awaited titles is Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei, which is set to launch in 2025. Enthusiasts are hoping for a glimpse of new gameplay footage and perhaps even a concrete release date. Bungie's PvP extraction shooter, Marathon, could also make an appearance, especially if it's gearing up for playtesting this year. Haven Studios' debut game, Fairgames, is another title to watch out for. Naughty Dog's new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are also on the radar, though perhaps the most likely reveal is a fresh trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set for a 2025 release.

However, fans won't be seeing the live service games that Sony recently canceled. Last month, Sony axed two unannounced live-service projects from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, the latter reportedly being a live-service God of War title. Meanwhile, Guerrilla Games' live service Horizon game survived the cuts, raising hopes for a possible reveal at the State of Play.

Looking beyond first-party titles, third-party announcements could include Kojima's Physint, a stealth-action PlayStation exclusive, though it might be too early for a reveal. Phantom Blade Zero, a hack-and-slash action RPG from S-Game, seems more likely to appear.

With Microsoft now a significant publisher on PlayStation, there's potential for news on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which is set to launch on PS5. Could this State of Play be the platform for announcing a release date? Moreover, there's speculation about whether Microsoft might use the event to announce Halo's arrival on PlayStation.

To predict what might be shown, it's useful to review last year's State of Play, which featured titles like Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine’s Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.
