HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere this April, and the casting list continues to grow with the addition of six new actors. According to Variety, the new cast members include Joe Pantoliano from Memento and The Matrix, Alanna Ubach known for Euphoria and Bombshell, Ben Ahlers from The Gilded Age and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Hettienne Park from Don't Look Up, Robert John Burke from RoboCop 3, and Noah Lamanna from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
These additions will bring both characters from the original The Last of Us Part II game and new faces to the screen. Joe Pantoliano will portray Eugene, a character originally seen briefly as Ellie and Dina's friend in the game. In the series, Eugene's role will be expanded, much like Bill's was in Season 1. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann expressed excitement about fleshing out Eugene's story, noting it would delve deeper into Joel and Ellie's relationship.
Robert John Burke is set to play Seth, the bar owner from The Last of Us Part II, while Noah Lamanna will take on the role of Kat, Ellie's former girlfriend. Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, and Hettienne Park will introduce new characters named Hanrahan, Burton, and Elise Park, respectively.
Joining the previously announced cast members like Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy, these new additions round out a robust ensemble. Given that the events of Part II are expected to span multiple seasons, fans can anticipate more casting announcements and surprises as the season unfolds.
