A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been canceled after several years in development. No reason for the cancellation was given.
Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported that this project was not a mainline Titanfall entry, confirming it wasn't Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists to work on the title.
This isn't the first cancellation for Respawn. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was also shut down last year.
The Titanfall series is celebrated for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as agile pilots or powerful Titans. Since its 2014 debut, the franchise has cultivated a loyal following thanks to its innovative gameplay merging parkour and dynamic team battles.
Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the third installment in the Jedi series, and a new, unannounced strategy game set in the Star Wars universe, developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
