The last day of the Six Invitational is always a thrilling conclusion, not just for the competition but also for the big announcements Ubisoft makes regarding *Rainbow Six Siege*. A beloved tradition is the unveiling of a new operator, and this year, Ubisoft introduced Rauora, the latest attack operator hailing from New Zealand.
Rauora's standout feature is the DOM launcher, which deploys a bulletproof shield (though it can be taken out with explosives) exclusively in doorways. This shield comes with a unique twist: a trigger that can be activated by anyone. However, the time it takes for the shield to open varies based on who pulls the trigger. For the attacking team, it takes a mere second to open, but defenders must wait a longer three seconds. This difference can be critical, especially when the defuser is planted and every second counts.

In addition to her innovative shield, Rauora brings a fresh weapon to the arsenal of *Rainbow Six Siege*: the Reaper MK2, a fully automatic pistol equipped with a red dot sight and an enlarged magazine. For her primary weapon choices, players can opt for the M249 LMG or the 417 marksman rifle, offering strategic flexibility on the battlefield.
Rauora will be available on the test servers starting next week, giving players an early chance to try out her abilities. For the full release on the live version of the game, fans will need to wait a bit longer.
