By PenelopeMay 21,2025

In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, returning to the open-world RPG format means you'll need to keep your character and Hideout well-upgraded to tackle the game's tougher challenges. Here's how you can quickly gather the resources you need in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*.

How to Get Wood, Minerals, and Crops in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

There are three main ways to collect resources for your Hideout in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*:

  • By completing quests: Most side quests will reward you with a substantial amount of resources. This method is straightforward and can be quite lucrative.
  • By completing Contracts: This is the most efficient way to farm resources, which we'll delve into more below.
  • By looting chests: When entering restricted areas or castles, use the L2 or LT button to scan your surroundings. Look for golden and white orbs that indicate chests and other lootable caches. Occasionally, you'll discover large resource caches that you can tag for your scouts to smuggle away.

Completing Contracts

Assassin’s Creed Shadows - Hideout Upgrade

As you develop your base, you'll eventually have the opportunity to construct a Kakurega building within your Hideout. This not only increases your number of scouts but also unlocks optional quests known as Contracts. These are specifically designed to help you farm wood, minerals, crops, and even metal and silk, which are essential for upgrading your weapons and armor.

To access your Contracts, head to the Kakurega building and interact with the small table inside. From there, you can view and accept Contracts. Look for them on your map, marked by a katana icon. Completing these quests will reward you generously with resources, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking to significantly upgrade their Hideout.

That's how you can quickly gather resources in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
