PUBG Mobile's Conservancy Event Protects 750k Sq Ft of Land

By JulianApr 22,2025

When it comes to protecting the planet, gaming has proven to be a surprisingly resourceful means of doing so. Despite the energy and resources that go into our favorite consoles, mobiles, and computers, the dedication of players has also helped raise money and protect the environment. PUBG Mobile's recent conservation campaign is a prime example of this positive impact.

PUBG Mobile's Play for Green campaign saw players exploring the ruins of Erangel across two distinct maps, highlighting the effects of climate change. Meanwhile, the Run for Green event saw an impressive 20 million players collectively sprint a staggering 4.8 billion kilometers. This effort translated into tangible real-world benefits by protecting 750,000 square feet of vital ecosystems in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Brazil.

While it's challenging to measure the less empirical data, such as the conversations around climate change that PUBG Mobile boasts about, there's no doubt that the dedicated fans have made a significant difference.

ytGreened upIt's clear that PUBG Mobile's conservation efforts have had a substantial impact. Their win at the 2024 Playing for the Planet awards for the Play for Green initiative is a testament to their success. While it's uncertain how well these efforts have resonated with players, the combination of events and exclusive digital rewards that contribute to real-world conservation is a smart approach.

I must also commend PUBG Mobile for their attempts to make this an educational event to some extent. While many players were primarily there for the rewards, it's likely that at least some gained valuable insights into environmental issues.
