Attention all fans of espionage and thrilling adventures—prepare to celebrate! IO Interactive has just announced that their much-anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. This exciting news comes straight from IO Interactive’s website, where they revealed that the game will delve into an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe.

"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer stated, setting the stage for what promises to be an immersive journey into the life of the legendary spy.

In an insightful interview with IGN back in October, Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared his enthusiasm about crafting a fresh origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," Abrak explained, emphasizing the unique approach they're taking with Project 007.

Abrak further elaborated on their vision, saying, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."

While fans eagerly await the release of Project 007, an exact date has yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, you can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the recent Nintendo Direct by clicking here.
