People Can Fly Joins Sony for New Project Delta

By LeoApr 10,2025

People Can Fly, the developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a new game, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is classified as a work-for-hire project, though specifics about the game remain under wraps.

Currently, People Can Fly is juggling multiple projects, each bearing similar codenames. Among these are Project Gemini in collaboration with Square Enix, which faced a setback with 30 developers being laid off last year, and Project Echo, developed in partnership with Krafton. Additionally, they are working on Project Red, which also seems to be linked with Sony, and the VR project, Project Bison, which the studio recently announced would be their last venture into virtual reality.

Last December, People Can Fly hit pause on Project Victoria and scaled down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, the studio decided to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly remains busy with eight known projects in development. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, created in partnership with The Coalition, though no release date has been set. Meanwhile, the game developed with Square Enix, Project Gemini, is slated for a 2026 release.
