Pedro Pascal, the acclaimed actor from series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling over her repeated online remarks targeting the transgender community.
Pascal voiced his opinion in response to an April 17 video posted by writer and activist Tariq Raouf. In the video, Raouf condemns Rowling’s endorsement of a recent UK Supreme Court ruling that legally defines "woman" as "a biological woman and biological sex" within the country's equality legislation. This definition effectively excludes transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.
After the decision, Rowling celebrated by sharing a photo on Twitter/X of herself smoking a cigar and relaxing with a drink by the ocean. She captioned it, “I love it when a plan comes together,” alluding to her previous financial support for For Scotland Women, the organization that brought the lawsuit.

In his video, Raouf criticized Rowling’s behavior as “serious Voldemort villain sh**” and encouraged audiences to boycott Harry Potter and related content. Pascal replied to the post, writing: “Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”
This isn’t the first time Pascal has taken a stand for transgender rights. Previously, he posted: “I can’t think of anything more vile, small, and pathetic than harassing one of the smallest and most vulnerable communities—people who only want the right to exist.” Alongside his message, he shared an image of a sign stating, “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.” He also wore a “Protect the dolls” T-shirt while attending the Thunderbolts premiere in London—a phrase widely understood within LGBTQIA+ communities as referring to trans women.
Pascal’s sister, Lux Pascal, publicly came out as a trans woman in 2021, and Pascal has been a vocal supporter. When she announced her transition, he posted: “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” meaning “My sister, my heart, our Lux.”
