Developer Pocketpair has unveiled an exciting new addition to their universe with Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim set in the beloved monster-catching world of Palworld. Contrary to initial skepticism due to the timing of the announcement on March 31, Pocketpair assures fans that this is no April Fools' Day jest.
Following the success of their 2024 Pokémon-like survival game, Pocketpair is now venturing into the realm of romance with Palworld! More Than Just Pals. The idea, which originated from an April Fools' Day stunt in 2024, has now blossomed into a genuine project slated for release on PC via Steam at a future date.
Palworld! More Than Just Pals promises an immersive experience where players can enroll as transfer students at the prestigious Palagos Private Academy. Here, they'll have the opportunity to befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals. Characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, familiar from the original Palworld, are highlighted on the game's Steam page.
"You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palagos Private Academy," explains an official description from Pocketpair. "You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. It's up to you whether you stay friends with the pals, develop romantic relationships with them, or even dismember and eat them."
To dispel any doubts about the game's legitimacy, Pocketpair's community manager, Bucky, affirmed on social media, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)"
As Palworld celebrates its one-year anniversary, fans can look forward to more updates, including recent additions like crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode. While there's hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, enthusiasts can also anticipate the possibility of Palworld! More Than Just Pals making its way to the console in the future.
