Atlus has officially confirmed the long-rumored remake of Persona 4, ending months of speculation.
A teaser trailer showcased P4R: Persona 4 Revival for Xbox, PS5, and PC, with a day-one release on Game Pass. While brief, the trailer highlighted visually enhanced environments compared to the original.
Following the reveal, P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada shared these remarks:
We’re thrilled to announce Persona 4 Revival. More details will be revealed in the coming months.
Persona 4 has inspired numerous spin-offs, including a TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It’s a cherished title at Atlus and holds a special place in my heart. Our team is pouring passion and care into this project, aiming to deliver a fresh and exciting experience for both new players and longtime fans.
We’re also laying the groundwork for the future of the Persona series. Our team is working diligently to meet global fan expectations, and development is progressing smoothly. Stay tuned for more updates.
We deeply appreciate your continued support for the Persona series.
Speculation about a Persona 4 remake has swirled for months, driven by newly registered domains, insider leaks, and posts from original voice actors hinting at their absence from the unannounced project, sparking fan theories.
We rated the original Persona 4 a 9/10, praising its “deeper dungeon crawling and social link experience that captivates players.” The enhanced Persona 4 Golden remains the definitive way to play on modern platforms, though fans continue to clamor for a Nintendo Switch release after years of requests.
