Oscar Isaac Exits Star Wars Event, Sparks MCU Moon Knight Avengers Rumors

By DylanMay 23,2025

Rumors are swirling that Oscar Isaac could be reprising his role as Moon Knight in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. This buzz began after Isaac announced he would no longer be attending Star Wars Celebration in Japan due to shifts in his production schedule. Originally set to make a big splash at the event, fans had speculated about a potential return as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars universe, especially after Daisy Ridley's announcement of her involvement in a new film at Star Wars Celebration 2023.

The change in Isaac's schedule has led fans to connect the dots, particularly since Avengers: Doomsday is currently being filmed in London. Social media has been abuzz with speculation, as seen in tweets from excited fans:

While the excitement is palpable, it's important to note that Isaac was not included in the initial cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday. However, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige hinted at more surprises during a CinemaCon video call, stating, “We revealed many, not all,” leaving room for speculation about additional cast members.

Isaac's portrayal of Moon Knight in the 2022 six-episode series remains his only appearance in the role to date, with no follow-up season announced yet. Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on May 1, 2026, promising an epic ensemble of returning heroes and new faces, as showcased in their recent livestream.

In related MCU news, fans are also intrigued by Robert Downey Jr.'s recent Doctor Doom-themed 60th birthday party invitation, sparking further speculation and excitement within the community.

The cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday last month was a significant moment, especially for X-Men fans. It included veteran actors such as Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops). Grammer and Stewart have already made their MCU debuts, while the others are set to join the franchise in this film. This lineup raises the question: could Avengers: Doomsday be setting the stage for an epic Avengers vs. X-Men showdown?
