Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Starting March 2025, you'll find this unique device on shelves at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Alarmo: More Than Just an Alarm Clock
Initially launched with limited availability, Alarmo is finally expanding its reach. Expect to find it at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers. Best of all? The Nintendo Online membership requirement is being dropped, making it accessible to everyone. Get ready to set your alarm for $99.99 USD.
While the Alarmo launch is exciting news, many fans are still eagerly awaiting an official announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo remains tight-lipped on this highly anticipated console.
Alarmo's Instant Popularity
The initial release of Alarmo on October 9th, 2024, was met with overwhelming demand. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to high demand. Simultaneously, Alarmo sold out in a New York City store, with promises of restocking from Nintendo.
"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."
Wake Up to Fun with Alarmo's Features
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. Featuring delightful sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, it offers 42 charming scenes at launch, with more promised as free updates (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons themed content).
Choose your scene, and watch a game character patiently wait on the screen. When the alarm sounds, the character wakes up, playing a gentle melody. A visitor then arrives, and you can gently wave or move to quiet the alarm. If you linger too long, a more insistent visitor appears, and the sound intensifies. The motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without touching the device.
Beyond the fun wake-up experience, Alarmo adds ambiance with hourly chimes and sleep sounds, and even tracks your sleep patterns. For households with pets or multiple sleepers, the Button Mode is recommended. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be removed with the expanded release.
