Netflix Cancels Electric State Prequel Game: Kid Cosmo

Netflix is gearing up for an exciting new release with their upcoming sci-fi adventure film, The Electric State, set to hit the streaming platform on March 14th. Directed by the acclaimed Russo brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film promises an epic post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate '90s America, filled with massive robots and thrilling action. But that's not all—Netflix is also launching a companion game, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, just four days after the movie premieres, on March 18th.

It's Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie

Contrary to what you might expect, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo isn't just a straightforward adaptation of the movie. Instead, it serves as a prequel, delving into the childhood of two central characters, Chris and Michelle. Developed by BUCK Games in collaboration with AGBO, this puzzle game introduces players to a game-within-a-game experience. BUCK Games, known for their critically acclaimed roguelite puzzle game Let’s! Revolution! on Steam, brings their expertise to create a game that promises engaging gameplay.

Kid Cosmo will immerse players in a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the WarioWare series but with a distinct '80s vibe. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the game spans over five years, providing a deeper understanding of Chris and Michelle's journey before the events of the movie. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles that gradually reveal the secrets of this enigmatic world. The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix’s Trend of Spin-Offs

Netflix has been expanding its gaming catalog significantly, particularly with interactive spin-offs that complement their popular shows and movies. From Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales and Too Hot to Handle Series to Money Heist: Ultimate Choice and Squid Game: Unleashed, the platform is continually diversifying its offerings. If you're a Netflix subscriber, you can explore their growing roster of games on the Google Play Store.
