Monster Hunter Wilds Update 1: March 2025 Reveals

By EmeryMay 15,2025

Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase today unveiled an array of exciting updates and additions for the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series. With the spotlight on Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025, players can look forward to a wealth of free and paid DLC, new social hubs, fearsome monsters, and much more.

Title Update 1 will be a free update for all Monster Hunter Wilds owners. Alongside its release, players can enjoy a variety of new content. A new hub, dubbed the Grand Hub, will enhance the social experience, offering new activities like feasting, arm wrestling, and listening to the Diva sing at night. Additionally, a fun Barrel Bowling mini-game will be introduced, where players can earn vouchers and rewards. This hub becomes accessible once players reach Hunter Rank 16 by speaking to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.

One of the headline additions to Title Update 1 is the arrival of the Mizutsune, a bubbly monster known for its swift tail strikes and water jets. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or above can initiate the quest to hunt Mizutsune by speaking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. This update also includes new gear crafted from Mizutsune.

Further enriching the hunting experience, Title Update 1 introduces new Event Quests, including a challenging battle against Arch-tempered Rey Dau for players at Hunter Rank 50 or above. The update also allows players to re-fight Zoh Shia, previously a one-time encounter, through new quests available at the same rank, with new armor to craft.

Speedrunners will have a new arena to test their skills with the introduction of Arena Quests. These quests, accessible through the Grand Hub, offer both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests, with pendants awarded for participation and achievements.

Cosmetic enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Alma, the handler, is getting new outfit options. Players can change Alma's attire through an appearance menu in camp, with one new outfit available for free upon completing a specific side mission.

In addition to the free content, Title Update 1 will also see the release of both free and paid DLC. Players can look forward to classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games available for free, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 offers new looks, including stickers and outfits for Alma, available through the store or for those with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition.

The showcase also teased upcoming Event Quests and Seasonal Events, starting with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance on April 23, which will bring pink cherry blossoms and new decor to the game. Capcom confirmed the return of most previously available events and Event Quests.

The roadmap for the coming months was outlined, with Title Update 1 arriving on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance on April 22, the Arch-tempered Rey Dau on April 29, and additional features and a Capcom collaboration by the end of May.

Looking ahead, Title Update 2 was teased for a summer release, featuring a potential return of the beloved underwater leviathan, Lagiacrus.

With the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds and the introduction of Title Update 1, Capcom sets the stage for an engaging and evolving gaming experience. For new players, resources are available to help you get started, including guides on the game's weapon types, a detailed walkthrough, multiplayer tips, and instructions on transferring your beta character.
