Capcom has unveiled a new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that allows players to customize the appearance of their hunter and Palico. The first edit comes at no cost, but any further changes will require the purchase of Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers can be bought in packs of three for $6 or as a bundled set for both characters at $10. Without these vouchers, players are limited to modifying hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, with no ability to change core facial features.

This monetization strategy was not revealed during the game's initial previews before its official launch. Instead, it was announced last week through Capcom's social media platforms. Despite facing backlash over microtransactions and performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* shattered records, achieving over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at its debut.
Capcom has yet to respond to the community's feedback on this new system. Fans have voiced their discontent with the paid customization model, drawing comparisons to previous games in the series where appearance modifications were either free or could be earned through in-game currency. Many in the community believe this approach detracts from what was traditionally a core and freely accessible feature of the franchise.
