NetherRealm and WB Games have released the official gameplay trailer for T-1000, set to join the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 next Tuesday. This character stands out due to his unique ability to transform into liquid metal, allowing him to creatively dodge projectiles. T-1000 is poised to become a fan favorite, particularly among players who enjoyed the fast-paced style of Kabal from previous games. Although Kabal does not appear in Mortal Kombat 1, elements of his iconic weapons and moves have been incorporated into the game, adding a nostalgic touch for long-time fans.
The trailer also pays homage to the classic film Terminator 2: Judgment Day with several notable references. One such reference recreates the famous scene where T-1000 wags his finger—a gesture that, interestingly, is banned in the NBA for being considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Additionally, T-1000 interacts with Johnny Cage, asking if he has seen John Connor, further deepening the connection to the film.
Alongside T-1000, the trailer introduced Madam Bo, who will be added to the game simultaneously. T-1000's Fatality is particularly striking, as he changes his appearance and seamlessly replaces his victim, showcasing the efficiency of this liquid metal assassin in completing his mission.
No further announcements were made by WB Games following the trailer's release. Rumors are circulating that this might be the final wave of new content for Mortal Kombat 1, with speculation about an upcoming announcement for a new game. However, these rumors remain unconfirmed at this time.
