Microsoft recognizes that many PC gamers (88%, according to their research) use browsers during gameplay for help, progress tracking, music, or chatting. The constant Alt-Tabbing disrupts immersion. Edge Game Assist solves this by providing a seamless in-game browsing experience.
Edge Game Assist is the first in-game browser offering a rich, gaming-centric experience. It integrates directly with your existing Edge profile, meaning your bookmarks, history, cookies, and autofill data are all accessible without needing to log in again. The browser appears as an overlay via the Game Bar, eliminating the need for Alt-Tabbing.
A key feature is the game-aware tab page. This intelligently suggests relevant tips and guides for the game you're currently playing, eliminating manual searches. Microsoft's research shows 40% of PC gamers search for help during gameplay; this feature aims to simplify that process. You can even pin this tab for real-time access to guides.Currently in beta, automatic guide suggestions are limited to a select group of popular games:

More games will be added over time.
To use Edge Game Assist, download the Edge Beta or Preview version and set it as your default browser. Then, navigate to Settings within Edge and search for "Game Assist" to install the widget.
