Legendary Pokemon TCG Artist Rejoins Magic: The Gathering

Although this isn't Arita's first foray into Magic: The Gathering—his previous work included a borderless art version of Lumra, Bellow of the Woods from the 2024 Bloomburrow set—this new drop marks a significant leap, showcasing four new cards shortly after his last contribution.

These cards are not just visually stunning; they are also highly playable across various formats. The iconic Lightning Bolt is a staple in virtually every format where it's legal, while Murktide Regent has made a significant impact in both Modern and Legacy since its introduction in Modern Horizons 2 in 2021. Light-Paws has become a beloved Commander in its own right, and Shorikai has found a niche in many Vintage Cubes, currently ranking as the 20th most popular Commander according to EDHRec.

As with all Secret Lair releases, this set will be available on the Secret Lair website starting Monday, February 10 at 9am PT. You can choose between a non-foil version priced at $29.99 and a foil version at $39.99, both available only while supplies last. Given the high demand for Secret Lairs since Wizards of the Coast shifted from a timed print-to-order model last year, these cards are likely to sell out quickly.
