Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that fills based on your interactions. To build a romance with a specific character, frequent engagement and understanding their preferences are key. Start by **talking to them daily** as you go about your tasks in town. Regular conversation can significantly boost their affection. Also, be sure to **fulfill their requests** posted on the town board, as this provides more opportunities to increase their heart gauge.

You can also **give them a gift once per day**. Choose items they particularly enjoy or love, which can be gathered or crafted. On their birthday, make sure to gift something they love for an extra boost to their heart gauge. Consistently following these steps will help you quickly increase their affection.

Currently, NPC heart gauges can only reach **six hearts**. Reaching this level will trigger a cutscene hinting at budding feelings, but not full-blown romance yet. However, according to the game’s roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events, along with options for marriage and children, ensuring your romance in Mistria has the potential to flourish.
