Jason Momoa Hints at Lobo's Appearance in 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow': 'We Look Spot On'

Jason Momoa, known for his role as Aquaman in the former DC Extended Universe (DCEU), is set to bring his favorite comic book character, Lobo, to life in the upcoming DC Universe (DCU) movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, slated for release in June 2026. Lobo, an alien bounty hunter with superhuman strength and immortality from the planet Czarnia, was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen and first appeared in Omega Men #3 in 1983. Like Superman, Lobo is the last of his kind, adding depth to his character.

Momoa, who has expressed his long-standing desire to portray Lobo, highlighted the aesthetic similarities between himself and the character. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Momoa teased fans with a glimpse of what to expect, emphasizing his excitement and nervousness about taking on the role. He mentioned that while Lobo's appearance in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be brief, the character's design will be faithful to the comics, complete with a cool bike.

From Aquaman to Lobo, Jason Momoa is crossing DC universes.

In January, DC co-chief James Gunn shared the first look at Milly Alcock as Supergirl, marking the beginning of production. The film, based on the graphic novel by Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Ana Norgueira, follows the story of Ruthye Marye Knoll, who seeks Supergirl's help to avenge her father's murder by the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills. Matthias Schoenaerts will portray Krem, while Eve Ridley will play Ruthye. The cast also includes David Krumholtz as Supergirl's father Zor-El and Emily Beecham as her mother.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is the second installment in the new DCU, following Superman, set to premiere this summer. The DCU will continue with a Clayface movie in September 2026.
