The hitbox in Marvel Rivals is controversial

Marvel Rivals, dubbed the "Overwatch killer," has enjoyed a hugely successful Steam launch, peaking at over 444,000 concurrent players on its first day – a number comparable to Miami's population. While praised for its fun factor and value, optimization issues remain a key concern. Players with graphics cards such as the Nvidia GeForce 3050 report noticeable frame rate drops. However, the game's generally positive reception is bolstered by its straightforward revenue model. A significant advantage is the non-expiring nature of battle passes, eliminating the pressure to constantly grind. This feature alone could significantly influence player perception.

Meanwhile, the game's Reddit community is buzzing with discussions about problematic hitboxes. Videos showcasing Spider-Man landing hits from improbable distances on Luna Snow highlight the issue. Other instances show hits registering despite visually missing their target. While lag compensation has been suggested as a contributing factor, many believe the core problem lies within the hitbox implementation itself. Professional players have demonstrated consistent inconsistencies, with right-side aiming consistently registering hits while left-side aiming frequently fails. This points to a broader problem affecting multiple characters' hitboxes.
