By JasonMar 06,2025

Leaked 2005 James Bond audition tapes surface online, showcasing Henry Cavill's impressive performance before Daniel Craig secured the role.

Games Radar reports that several audition tapes, including those of Henry Cavill, Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr, were uploaded to the Ron South YouTube channel, maintained by an enthusiastic filmmaker.

While all auditions are noteworthy, Cavill's has garnered significant attention, with many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, praising his "tremendous" performance. Campbell reportedly favored Cavill, but ultimately, other executives opted for Craig.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in the film Argylle, starring alongside a formidable cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara. Despite the star-studded lineup, the film received poor critical reception, scoring a mere 4/10 in IGN's review.

Cavill's career remains diverse and successful, encompassing iconic roles such as Superman in the DC universe, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and numerous other notable parts.
