Even though Halo Infinite may not be in the spotlight as much as some other titles, it's still getting exciting updates. The latest addition is a competitive game mode called S&D Extraction, which offers a fresh and strategically deep experience for players.
S&D Extraction takes inspiration from Valve's Counter-Strike but adds unique twists to keep things interesting. The mode pits two teams of four players against each other: one team acts as attackers, whose goal is to plant a device at a designated point, while the other team defends. After each round, the teams swap roles. The first team to win six rounds emerges victorious.
A robust economic system is a key feature of S&D Extraction, enabling players to buy equipment at the beginning of each round using in-game currency earned through completing objectives. The prices of equipment change based on how well players perform, and all gear vanishes at the end of each round.
The cost of items is based on their effectiveness and potential impact within a round, with more powerful items naturally being more expensive. Players can look forward to affordable options in the early rounds, more expensive choices in the middle of the match, and potentially even pricier gear towards the end if they've saved their earnings. Additionally, there's an option to pay for a respawn after being eliminated.
S&D Extraction is scheduled to launch for Halo Infinite in 2025, promising a dynamic and engaging competitive experience that fans of the franchise are sure to enjoy.
