"Guide to Obtaining a Mount in Rune Slayer"

By LucasMar 31,2025

*Rune Slayer* offers a rich MMORPG-like experience within *Roblox*, complete with quests like "Kill 10 X," crafting, dungeons, and even fishing. A crucial element of any MMORPG is a mount, and *Rune Slayer* allows players to ride one. However, the game doesn't explicitly guide you on how to obtain a mount. Fear not, as we're here to walk you through the process step-by-step.

Before You Get a Mount

Before you can start exploring *Rune Slayer*'s world at a faster pace, you need to meet two prerequisites:

  • Reach level 20: This shouldn't take more than a few hours (around 5-6 hours, or even less if you're playing with friends). Focus on completing Quests, Jobs, and defeating mobs to level up quickly.
  • Tame a Pet: You'll receive a quest that teaches you how to tame a pet. Here's a quick rundown:
    • Find an animal you want to tame (e.g., Deer, Wolf, Spider).
    • Attack it once.
    • Hold a food item that the animal likes (e.g., Apples for Deer, Raw Deer Meat for Wolves).
    • A heart will appear above the animal's head, indicating the taming attempt.
    • If the heart grows fully, the animal will become your pet. If it turns black, the attempt fails, but don't worry—just try with another animal.

Once you've reached level 20 and tamed a pet, you're ready to proceed to the next step.

Finish the Mount Quest

Upon reaching level 20, head to **Jimmy the Stable Master in Wayshire**. He'll offer you a quest called "Jimmy's Delivery," where you need to deliver a package to the Stable Master in Ashenshire. Accept the quest and head north through Wayshire's northern entrance. Follow the road and climb over the hill into **Greatwood Forest**. Be cautious of the mobs here, as they can be challenging. Continue north until you reach **Ashenshire**, recognizable by the large houses built on top of trees.

Find a rope to climb up to Ashenshire. Once you're up, the first NPC you'll see is **Madonna the Stable Master**. There won't be a quest marker on her, so simply talk to her and select "I have a package for you." She will take the package. Then, backtrack south to return to Wayshire.

Upon returning to Wayshire, talk to **Jimmy the Stable Master** again (he'll have an exclamation mark above his head). He will reward you with a **Saddle**, which won't appear in your inventory to prevent accidental loss or sale.

How to Mount Your Pet in Rune Slayer

After receiving the saddle, summon your pet by holding "T". Approach your pet, and you'll see an option to "Mount". Press "E" to mount your pet. This method works for all mountable pets in the game.

That's all you need to know to start riding your pet and exploring *Rune Slayer* at high speeds. For more tips, check out our The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to *Rune Slayer*. If you're interested in fishing, we have a guide for that as well.
