"Guide to Finding and Crafting Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria"

By EleanorApr 12,2025

Essence Stones, introduced in the March 2025 update of *Fields of Mistria*, are essential for a variety of new features that enhance daily gameplay. To make the most of these new mechanics, it's crucial to know where to find these stones and how to craft them, as well as their various applications.

Following the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered inside chests scattered throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. I stumbled upon my first stone while seeking offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but these chests can appear on any level across the game's biomes and floors. Be cautious, though; some chests are mimics that can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. The smaller stones are more common, while larger ones require more thorough exploration. If locating them proves challenging, you can craft them using the Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*, a feature introduced in the March 2025 update. The refinery becomes part of a new storyline that involves building it from scratch inside the mines, guided by Adeline, Olric, and Errol.

To construct the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using Stone and Essence. The quantities required vary by size, as detailed below:

**Tiny Essence Stone**x5 Stone
x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**x10 Stone
x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**x20 Stone
x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**x40 Stone
x100 Essence

The Stone Refinery also allows crafting of other common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a vital hub for resources needed for various projects in Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which rely on Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all animals are automatically petted daily when powered by an Essence Stone. You can find this statue in a hidden cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible by using the Dragon’s Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once the item is unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic is enabled by the Water Sprite Statue, which can be placed anywhere on your farm to water crops within a 2-tile radius when an Essence Stone is used. You can locate this statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Access it by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath on the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are likely to play an increasingly significant role in the game's mechanics.

NOTE: *Fields of Mistria* is currently in Early Access, and its content may change. The information provided is accurate as of Version 0.13.1 and will be updated as necessary.

*Fields of Mistria is available to play now in Steam Early Access.*
