Guide to Completing the Straw Hat Side Quest in KCD2

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, some quests, like "Under the Straw Hat," become available only after you reach Kuttenberg. Once you're there, you can freely travel between regions, opening up new areas to explore. Here's how to complete the "Under the Straw Hat" quest:

How to Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To start "Under the Straw Hat," you first need to begin the side quest "In Vino Veritas," which is set in Kuttenberg. Upon arriving, seek out Casper Rudolf on the west side of the city, where he's offering free wine samples. Casper needs your help to gather information to improve his wine.

You have two paths here: head directly to Havel and impress him with your wine knowledge, or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta to gain more insight. If you choose to meet Havel directly, make sure you're dressed in fancy clothes and well-groomed, as he won't entertain you otherwise. In your conversation with Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" to extract the necessary information. Return to Casper with what you've learned.

Access the Vineyard

Next, Casper tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields, as this counts as trespassing. Instead, follow the main road into the vineyard and speak to the recruiter, who will initiate the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. Continue along the road past a guard to find Jerome on a bench. Tell Jerome you've been instructed to report there, and he'll provide information about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard starts the following day. After resting, return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn your pay, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and pick plants like Thistle around the vines. Alternatively, you can skip the work and head straight for the secret incense.

The incense is located in the wine cellar, which is in the main building and downstairs from where you met Jerome. Accessing the cellar requires either a lockpick or stealing the keys from Jerome. Inside the cellar, find a chest and take all the Sulphur Wicks, completing the main objective. For an additional reward, you can also collect seedlings for Casper. From the main building's entrance, go straight to the door across to find the seedlings. Be quick, as this area is still off-limits.

If you do your work, report to Jerome at the end of the day to get paid. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if you collected them, the seedlings.

Completing these tasks will finish both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, allowing you to proceed to other side quests like "Master Schindel's Toys."
