Main quests in games can often be quite stressful, especially when they involve sneaking through unfamiliar areas under a tight time limit. In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is a perfect example of this challenge. This quest unfolds right after the completion of "Wedding Crashers," where you find yourself imprisoned in Trosky. Your character, Hans, faces execution when the bell tolls 12 times, but you, as Henry, are given a chance to work as a laborer around the castle. This small window of freedom is your key to saving Hans.

Hauling Sacks

Start by taking a sack from the wagon and bring it to the shed located next to the fenced area. Drop the sack inside the shed and repeat the process until the objective is completed.

Help the Blacksmith

Head through the archway opposite the blacksmith to reach the forge area. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe. Once done, return to the blacksmith for his approval, then proceed down the sack-hauling path to the stables to deliver the horseshoe.

Help Fanka the Cook

Return to the forge and pick up a lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Then, speak with Fanka, the nearby cook, who usually has restricted access to the noble's kitchen. By offering your help, you gain entry. Follow Fanka to the kitchen; while you don't need to lockpick for her, doing so boosts your reputation and grants you ongoing food access.

Speak with the Chamberlain

Engage him in conversation and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. Success here grants you access to the surgeon's workshop; otherwise, you'll need to sneak in.

Make Fever Tonicum

If successful, head directly to the surgeon's workshop. Climb the stairs opposite the forge to reach the kitchen used by non-nobles. If sneaking, use the food to make the guard leave, then proceed upstairs to the surgeon's workshop. Here, craft the Fever Tonicum and, if applicable, the Digestive Potion using the ingredients in the room's chest.

Cure Thomas

If sneaking, you'll need to navigate another route. Head back to the noble's kitchen and ascend the stairs to avoid additional guards. Stay crouched as you move, and when you encounter a guard at the base of the stairs leading to Thomas' room, use a pebble to distract him. Sneak past and reach Thomas' room, where you'll find him with his sister, Adele. Give Adele the Fever Tonicum to trigger the concluding cutscene of the quest.

Completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* before the 12 bells toll not only saves Hans but also boosts your reputation. Regardless of the timing, the outcome remains the same, marking the end of this thrilling quest.
